A glimpse of the future
Every once in a while, I’ll catch an expression on one of my children’s faces that acts like a window into the future. For just a brief second, I have an idea of what they’ll look like and who they’ll be when they are grown. I luckily photographed such a moment the other day during an informal session with my kids for Halloween. They both just got their costumes, I wanted to play with my new camera and also send some photos of them in their costumes to relatives.
I got this one of Genevieve:
While I have better portraits of her, I keep coming back to this one. She’s only 3, but I swear I can see a little glimpse of her as a young woman. It’s a reminder to me of how fast she’s growing and that I need to slow down and savor her childhood.
I love her eyes and she does look older than 3. Grat comp, love the photo.
